Permanent position | 37.5 hours per week
Job description (responsibilities):
- Design and draw precise plans for wood structures, using specialized
- software;
- Read, interpret and analyze architectural plans and technical documents;
- Estimate material costs;
- Validate compliance of designs with current construction standards;
- Coordinate several projects simultaneously;
- Follow-up on various worksites;
- Communicate with customers to clarify their needs and answer their technical questions in partnership with the project manager;
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure the feasibility of designs;
- Suggest improvements to drawings or plans based on comments received.
Skills required:
- Degree in technical drawing, civil engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience;
- Proficiency in Planswift & Gexmat and Excel (training offered);
- Knowledge of building codes, standards and regulations;
- Ability to produce accurate technical drawings;
- Good knowledge of building materials;
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical drawings;
- Be able to communicate effectively;
- Ability to write clear, well-structured reports;
- Ability to coordinate projects simultaneously and manage deadlines;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Willingness to learn and continue to improve knowledge of the in the field;
- Bilingualism (French and English): an asset
